About this listen
It's our first interview episode, Yay! Today, we sit down with Schyler Cole, a venture capitalist at Incubate Fund in Tokyo, Japan - the first African-American woman venture capitalist in Japan. Her guiding star is to invest in and support diverse ideas, people, and organizations allowing people to have improved lives and livelihoods. She is most excited about and committed to people and companies creating solutions that give real people more financial, temporal, physical, and/or mental agency over their lives.
I have to say, Schyler and I went to the same high school. She was that girl then and she's that girl now! Together, we unpack what it means to be a venture capitalist, delve into the unique experiences of being a black woman in Japan, and uncover invaluable insights on crafting a fulfilling life.
