Unplugged Ep 007 - The TERRIBLE Aussie Treatment of Canadian Protester "Billboard Chris"

  • Summary

  • IN THIS EPISODE OF THE OTHER SIDE - UNPLUGGED

Released: Tue 22 Apr 2025 from an interview recorded on 25 March as part of the on-line Telethon for the Human Rights Law Alliance hrla.org.au

Authorities in Brisbane, Australia fined well-known Canadian pro-child-safety campaigner "Billboard Chris" and ordered him to cease a peaceful small protest in the 2032 Olympic City's main street late last month.

Chris Elston was in Australia to fight a case against the country's online censorship agency, the eSafety Commission, which had previously censored him over an innocuous tweet.

Many critics, in Australia and abroad, say the Commission is operating way beyond what is acceptable in a western liberal democracy that claims to adhere to basic principles of free speech.
