    In the Season 1 finale, Dr. Francesca Coppa, co-founder of the Organisation for Transformative Works—the parent organisation of Archive of our Own (ao3)—talks the meaning of fandom, the value of the fanfiction space, the success of the OTW, and the transition from fanfiction to traditional publishing.Dr. Francesca Copa is currently a professor of English and director of women’s and gender studies at Muhlenberg College, She co-founded the organisation for transformative works, the company behind archive of our own, in 2007. She currently contributes to the Transformative worlds and cultures journal, and in communications for the OTW, she does background on fandom to journalists. She is a published author of several books, most recently of The Fanfiction reader: folk tales for the digital age and Vidding: a history.
