 "Dimebag" Darrell (bürgerlich: Darrell Lance Abbott) hatte mit seinem virtuosen Gitarrenspiel seine Band Pantera zu einer der härtesten und erfolreichsten Metal-Bands aller Zeiten gemacht. Ähnlich wie John Lennon exakt 24 Jahre zuvor, wurde er aber Opfer eines wahnsinnigen Fans, der auf offener Bühne ein Blutbad anrichtete.
