 IN POLITICAL NEWS 1) In a titanic announcement, President Trump has given "most favored nation" status to . . . the USA when it comes to drugs! This immediately offsets the massive differences in prices between the same drugs in Europe and the US and promises to lower costs immediately. If prices go up in Europe, well, . . . Trump has called this the most "consequential executive order in history." And he'd be right. By the way, this would require the federal gubment to pay the same prices under "most favored nation," causing all Medicare and Medicaid prices to fall. It was absolutely brilliant, and the Hoax News Media is screaming about Pfizer's stock price. Pfizer may not like it, but the rest of the market soared 1,000, with the Dow now back to over 42,000. It will be 46,000 by Christmas---at least. By the way, "Aristophanes" on X suggest that in part this is Trump getting back on Big Pharma over screwing up the China Virus vax and damaging him with what he wanted to be a signature issue, and now one he has had to drop. Oh, and politically? This means that after Trump cut the DemoKKKrats' fiscal nuts off at USAID, he now has sucked off all their Big Pharma donations for 2026. A Minnesota male is dominating female softball. IN ECONOMIC NEWS 18) President Trump said that in extended negotiations with the ChiComs, they have arrived at a "total reset in trade. Trump says 80% tariffs appear about right, but for now the standard 10% tariffs plus a 20% ChiCom surcharge are in place. Still seems low to me. For now there is a pause on the 125% rate. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said that in conversations with the ChiComs they said they flat out ignored any of their own concessions to Rutabaga because, well, he was Rutabaga. ...
