In 1901, two English schoolteachers took a wrong turn near the Petit Trianon at Versailles. The air grew still. The light dimmed. And the people around them were dressed in 18th-century clothing.

What they saw — and who they believed they encountered — became one of the most famous and unsettling time slip cases ever recorded.

The year was 2011, Sedona Arizona, and a man, on a mission, to go for a walk.

He was only gone for 10 minutes.

That’s what his GPS said. That’s what his watch said. That’s even what the ranger at the trailhead confirmed.

And yet when he came back, his boots were caked in red clay from miles away. His phone was dead. And zipped in his jacket pocket was a smooth metal token - engraved with the date 1913.

He swears he didn’t bring it with him. Didn’t see another soul. Just the desert. Just the wind. And 10 minutes of nothing.
