  • A Nightmare on Elm Street 2: Freddy’s Revenge
    Jul 18 2025

Fred Krueger! He’s inside me, and he wants to take me again! This week PJ and Derek present a message by special guest Charlie Suor before discussing Jack Sholder’s polarizing sequel that traded dream logic for psychological horror in A Nightmare on Elm Street 2: Freddy’s Revenge (1985). In this episode the guys unpack the film’s infamous legacy, its haunting portrayal of identity and repression, and the ways Freddy Krueger evolves from dream-stalker to a symbol of internal torment. 📺

Check out Charlie’s work on his website or his list of Queer Horror films on Letterboxd.

Here is the list of questions we had Charlie ponder while watching Freddy’s Revenge:

    - Had you seen this film before or was this your first time viewing?
    - What did you know about this film before watching? Did it live up to what you had heard?
    - Do you like Freddy as a character? What did you think of how he was handled in this film vs the original?
    - What was your favorite effect or sequence?
    - What did you think of the main character? Does having a final boy stand out at all?
    - Did you like the dance scene or think that it's cringe?
    - Did the film resonate with you personally or can you see where it could resonate with those in the queer community?
    - Do you think this does more good or bad for gay representation in film?
    - Would you recommend this film? Any other queer horror you would recommend?
