About this listen

For the newest edition of The Seltzer Salon, I talked to trumpeter, composer, and so much more, Matthew Halsall, about his new album, An Ever Changing View. It's a stunning album. I've been an admirer of Halsall's work for a while, but this album really swept me up in this lively, vivid world he creates with it. His compositions and trumpet playing are, of course, top notch, but the percussive elements of the album heighten its impact considerably. Add in the full package - custom fonts, cover tapestry, etc - it's an incredible listening experience. It was great to chat about it and hear him discuss those elements and how it came together to produce something so special.

The Seltzer Salon is a concise, conversational podcast hosted by Brad Rose and produced by Foxy Digitalis. Each episode features a musician, artist, writer, or anyone, really, focusing on a single project or idea. I know we all have limited time each day, so I wanted to do something a little smaller scale with just as much impact, so episodes will be 25-45 minutes in length. Brad Rose is the the principal writer and editor-in-chief of Foxy Digitalis, an online music magazine and has run various DIY record labels for the last 30 years.
