Dr. Dwaine Jengelley’s research focuses on the factors that influence how journalists report the news, and media coverage of race. In this area, he explores the negativity in terrorism and climate change news coverage. He also researches the portrayals of the Black Lives Matter movement in editorial cartoons. His teaching interests include terrorism, security and technology, global development, sports and politics. Dr. Jengelley is also the director of the Interdisciplinary Sports Studies Research Generator in the John Martinson Honors College.
