This is the first installment of a multi-part series where Sean and Jess discuss the history of pop culture with particular emphasis on music. In this episode, they go back to Africa, Scotland and Ireland to discover the roots of what would eventually become Rock and Roll and how, through transformation in America, those divergent musical styles team up to form popular music of the 1950's.

An accomplished bass player, entrepreneur, and restaurateur, he moved to California to seek fame and fortune and ended up touring with some big name bands like Puddle of Mud, participated in reality TV shows like "The Surreal Life" and "Vanderpump Rules", and then opened a chain of successful restaurants in the L.A. area.

Sean and Jess interview Rob Flynn CEO and owner of Flynn Stone Industries. They discuss Rob's rise from being a humble dairy farmer in northeast Pennsylvania to being a world-wide supplier of top Blue Stone and his subsequent interactions and friendships with famous people as well as with American presidents.

Jess and Sean welcome back former guest Quentin Fielding as he introduces his songwriting partner Ryan Kleindienst. The discussion focuses mainly on songwriting as it pertains to collaborating with a partner and how the dynamics of a partnership operate in this creative realm.

Quentin and Ryan also introduce two new songs, "Still Believe" and "Halo", and discuss how they wrote them.
