Episode 299 - Ancestral Therapy with Kat Daou

This episode contains adult subject matter and some listeners may be triggered by this content. Listener discretion is advised.

Family patterns don’t always show up as stories we’ve been told. Sometimes they live in the habits, emotions, and beliefs we carry without knowing where they began. In this episode, we explore how inherited trauma can shape our inner world and how becoming aware of those patterns can create new possibilities for healing. Our guest shares what led her to begin examining her own family system and how that process opened up a deeper understanding of what she had been holding.

We talk about the science of intergenerational trauma, how family dynamics are passed down, and why certain emotional responses may not begin with us at all. This conversation brings attention to the ways we unconsciously repeat what came before and what can shift when we start to look at those connections more closely. It’s a thoughtful invitation to reflect on what we’ve inherited and what we might choose to release.

    KAT DAOU

Kat Daou’s healing journey began at 28, after a life-changing Family Constellation Therapy session. Just days earlier, she had journaled her deepest shames only to realize many weren’t hers, but inherited through generations. That moment launched her into a three-year exploration of generational trauma, from war and immigration to abandonment, abuse, and mental illness.

Raised with the belief that “we don’t air our dirty laundry outside the family”, Kat came to see that each piece of that “laundry” was actually a gateway to healing. She stopped seeing herself as the black sheep and stepped into her role as a CYCLE BREAKER, trusting herself, speaking her truth, and breaking free from family patterns.

Today, Kat helps others do the same. Her deepest intention is to explore the stories, traumas, and beliefs passed down through family systems, and to envision a life beyond those cycles, supporting clients as they transform from black sheep to empowered cycle breakers, one layer at a time.

There are parts of the conversation around women’s health that often go unspoken. Experiences are dismissed, misunderstood, or never fully explored. In this episode, we dive into the gaps many women face when navigating their bodies, especially in high-pressure environments where performance is praised but wellbeing is rarely prioritized. What unfolds is an honest look at what gets left out of mainstream health narratives and why it matters.

We explore how chronic stress, burnout, and disconnection from the body can quietly take hold, even when everything looks healthy on the surface. This conversation gently invites us to reconsider what true wellness feels like.

    ALLIE CASS

Allie Cass is a women’s health and transformation coach who helps high-achieving women heal their metabolism, rewire their mindset, and cultivate deep self-love from the inside out. After becoming a pro status physique competitor — living in a world hyper-focused on aesthetics and extremes — Allie found herself burnt out and disconnected from her own body. That experience became the catalyst for her to shift toward a more holistic, sustainable approach to health.

Now, she blends functional nutrition, fitness, and neuro-linguistic programming to help women break free from chronic stress, frustration, and burnout — and instead, create lasting health, energy, and confidence.
