Episode 299 - Ancestral Therapy with Kat Daou

Family patterns don’t always show up as stories we’ve been told. Sometimes they live in the habits, emotions, and beliefs we carry without knowing where they began. In this episode, we explore how inherited trauma can shape our inner world and how becoming aware of those patterns can create new possibilities for healing. Our guest shares what led her to begin examining her own family system and how that process opened up a deeper understanding of what she had been holding.

We talk about the science of intergenerational trauma, how family dynamics are passed down, and why certain emotional responses may not begin with us at all. This conversation brings attention to the ways we unconsciously repeat what came before and what can shift when we start to look at those connections more closely. It’s a thoughtful invitation to reflect on what we’ve inherited and what we might choose to release.

    KAT DAOU

Kat Daou’s healing journey began at 28, after a life-changing Family Constellation Therapy session. Just days earlier, she had journaled her deepest shames only to realize many weren’t hers, but inherited through generations. That moment launched her into a three-year exploration of generational trauma, from war and immigration to abandonment, abuse, and mental illness.

Raised with the belief that “we don’t air our dirty laundry outside the family”, Kat came to see that each piece of that “laundry” was actually a gateway to healing. She stopped seeing herself as the black sheep and stepped into her role as a CYCLE BREAKER, trusting herself, speaking her truth, and breaking free from family patterns.

Today, Kat helps others do the same. Her deepest intention is to explore the stories, traumas, and beliefs passed down through family systems, and to envision a life beyond those cycles, supporting clients as they transform from black sheep to empowered cycle breakers, one layer at a time.

Burnout doesn’t always announce itself loudly. Sometimes it builds slowly, underneath a life that looks successful on the outside. In this episode, we explore what it feels like to hit that quiet breaking point and what it takes to start building something more sustainable in its place. Our guest shares her journey of leaving behind a fast-paced corporate career to create space for healing, reconnection, and a different kind of success.

We talk about the toll of constantly pushing through, and how nervous system awareness, mindset, and holistic care can begin to shift the pattern. This conversation is an invitation to check in with the pace we’re keeping and the pressure we’re carrying. It offers a reminder that balance isn’t something we find all at once but something we learn to return to, one choice at a time.

Episode 297 - Sleep as a Super Power with Dr. Bijoy John

Sleep is often the first thing we sacrifice when life gets busy, yet it plays one of the most essential roles in how we feel, think, and function. In this episode, we explore what happens when we begin to treat sleep as a foundation for wellbeing. Through the lens of both science and lived experience, we take a closer look at why quality sleep is so closely tied to our physical and emotional health.

The conversation offers insight into what might be disrupting our rest without us even realizing it, and how small changes can create meaningful shifts over time. We also talk about the cultural messages that downplay the importance of sleep, and what it means to reclaim it as something that supports every part of how we live. Whether sleep has been a struggle or something you’ve just never prioritized, this episode offers a chance to rethink the role it plays in your everyday life.
