About this listen

A small, conservative village in rural England. A farmer’s son in his late thirties, who has spent his entire life living in the shadow of tradition and expectation. Growing up in a tight-knit community, he has always known the importance of conformity and the unspoken rules that govern village life.

But as he transitions from boyhood to adolescence, he becomes acutely aware of a secret that sets him apart from the other boys—a secret that, in this place, could change everything. He realizes he is different from his peers, and this realization fills him with both wonder and fear. His path seems increasingly narrow as he tries to balance the weight of his secret with the expectations of his family and community.
