About this listen

Hosted by Sam Kondracki and Gabe Watts, "Honestly Dude..." is where every hard hitting question is answered, debate is had, and joke is told. Do you know why the Mona Lisa looks so bored, or where the burrito first originated? Neither do we, but let's figure it out together, or at least pretend to.

  • Episode 21: EPISODE 21 - EAVESDROPPING, BARBIE, AND STRIKING WRITERS
    Aug 9 2023

Our podcast is now legally allowed to drink. In this week's episode, Gabe wants to start juicing, Sam warns the general public about the "Land, Air, and Sea" burger, and we both share the same opinion on green fruit. Sam brings up a phone conspiracy, Gabe wonders what fruit Adam and Eve ate that screwed us all over, and we discover how much of our bodies is made up of water. Gabe wants to rescue our country's youth from Common Core math, Sam receives a phone call on his laptop and can't turn off his ringtone, and we can't stop rhyming. We discuss eavesdropping, Sam has fully settled into his dad clothing style, and Gabe can't wait to be the "Grillmaster" of his future home. We give our semi-official, spoiled-loaded thoughts on the "Barbie" movie, Gabe has a proposition for the Writer's Guild of America, and Sam has a piping hot take in defense of AI writing our entertainment. As they say in "Barbie", "Humans only have one ending, but ideas live forever". Replace "ideas" with "Honestly Dude" and you've got yourself a deal.

  • Episode 20: EPISODE 20 - INEBRIATED FISH, VIRAL CHARITY, AND WORLD RECORDS
    Aug 6 2023

The dog days of Summer have arrived. In this week's episode, Sam knows way too much about celebrity relationships, Gabe feels like he's being held captive by the Russians, and once again we ponder a future where we make it to 100 episodes. Gabe gets a new job, Sam comes up with the perfect audio-only podcast material, and we imagine how fish would smoke if they could. Sam discusses his favorite thing about exercising, Gabe creates a brand new word, and we come this close to several car accidents. Gabe cracks his knuckles and shares his current gripe with society, Sam has beef with Mr. Beast, and we dive into how social media is robbing us of maintaining full authenticity in the way real life allows us to. We talk about the downside to deleting content on social media and starting over, expand on relationships that turn out to be lessons in our lives, and we cap off a jam-packed episode with an extensive discussion on world records, while trying to figure out which ones we ourselves could attempt to beat. Hope you're staying cool (in every sense of the word), this one's on the house.

    Jul 17 2023

Guess who's back back back, back again. In this week's episode, Sam spruces up the "Honestly Dude" setup, Gabe examines the upside of leaving your weight off your driver's license, and we go over embarrassing headshots. Gabe makes a technological upgrade, Sam thinks his head is changing shapes, and we discuss the hot topic of double dates. Sam is indifferent about the drive-in, Gabe decides on the worst first date idea, and we congratulate each other on a little over one week of sobriety from purchasing Lego sets. Gabe sounds off on the "people-mover Cinnabon", Sam can't wrap his head around the "bookshelf coffin", and we dive into how two new chip flavors are subtly making it infinitely easier to have a healthy diet. We try to comprehend how Taco Bell's new menu item, the Cheeto taco, came to be, Sam needs a raise, and Gabe puts his foot down about some highly contested food debates. Finally, our "Honestly News" segment thrusts us into the ridiculous story of the most dangerous sleep walker of all time. Watch, rinse, repeat.
