There are a lot of gurus out there that talk about what it takes to be successful and a leader, but they don’t even run a company. At best they own a consultant firm, and if you know what I talk about, you know I only take advice from those that do something better than me.
So when these gurus talk about making decisions as a team, it gives off the wrong impression because those decisions are made upstairs by the ones who took the risks. It’s always important to work as a team and show empathy but it’s just as important to make hard decisions and stick to what’s best for the company, remember that as a CEO.
