Lord Henway summons the party back to his mansion in the High Quarter. He has a dire problem - something has happened to his business partner Azredor while preparing a new subterranean addition to the Menagerie. Terrible screams and howls echo from the darkened stairwell leading down, the steps and walls saturated with blood . . . oh, so much blood.

Finally! The Free City of Greyhawk looms on the horizon! Up from the road where crossed the Selintan River over the Zagig Bridge, past the great statue that pointed the way toward the Gem of the Flanaess, and on through the great gates to complete the quest so long ago accepted! Now all that remains is a short visit to Lord Henway to collect the reward.

Our heroes have many reasons for wanting to leave Dyvers - their quest to deliver the undead hound to Lord Henway in Greyhawk, fear of retribution by the Alliance thieves guild, uncertainty about Jabal and his mysterious spice guild, the Magistrate, puppets . . . The party is motivated to get out fast, but after losing two of their friends and abandoned by another, they have to wonder if the city will ever give them up.
