About this listen
Meredith O'Neill is a high-school English teacher and top-rated seller on Teachers Pay Teachers. She creates and sells educational products for teachers and students. She is proud to release her podcast series on Lois Lowry's famous YA novel, The Giver. The podcasts in this series are designed to assist students' deep understanding of the novel. Teachers are encouraged to use these audio synopses in class and post them to their online classrooms for easy access.
This Chapters 22-23 synopsis covers the end of the novel. We cover Jonas's starvation, his desperate attempt to survive and save the baby, Gabriel. We look at Jonas's traversing the snowy hill, finding the sled, and discovering Elsewhere in the distance. With the novel's end, several questions come to light. We discuss those questions along with the novel's themes and symbols. I end the podcast by reiterating Lowry's inspiration for the novel and mentioning the three other novels in The Giver Quartet.
These chapter synopses coordinate with Meredith O'Neill's The Giver by Lois Lowry Giant Unit Bundle which is for sale on TPT.
