This Chapters 18-19 synopsis covers the former Receiver, Rosemary, The Giver's relationship with her, and her release. We also cover euphemisms, Jonas's discovery that release is actually death, and his disgust at realizing that his father performs ritualized murder as "Nurturer." We have reached a climax in the novel, and will look ahead at where the novel is going.
