About this listen
It was great having Nick Kassouf back on the show to talk more about some of the core beliefs and doctrine of Catholicism. Today, we talk about the Eucharist. As a protestant, I believe the practice of communion to be a remembrance of what Jesus did for us on the cross. It is a symbol. When we take communion, it is a time to reflect on Christ's sacrifice as well as a time to examine ourselves and make sure we are living according to God's Word. Nick believes, as a Catholic, in the idea of transubstantiation, which is the Roman Catholic and Eastern Orthodox doctrine that the physical substance of the bread and wine in the Eucharist is transformed into the actual body, blood, soul, and divinity of Jesus Christ, while the external appearances (color, taste, texture) of bread and wine remain. We dive deep into the topic and discuss our differences and why we believe what we believe! I hope you enjoy this episode as much as I did!
