I've said it once and I'll say it a thousand times. Diets. With. Names. Are. Bad. News.
- They're NOT supported by evidence (with the sole exception of the DASH diet)
- They are often trying to simplify what are very nuanced and complex processes
- They extrapolate individualized data to population-wide recommendations (we should be doing the opposite, taking population-wide data and tweaking it to make individualized needs)
More than that- they generally make you feel like a bad person for "doing it wrong" or "not being able to stick to it." When the reality is the diet is doomed from the start.
