About this listen
🎙️Special Guest: Robert Selwyn
Founder of Intercultural Resources Development Inc.
Real Estate Visionary • Community Advocate • Changemaker
For over 50 years, Robert Selwyn has worked in all aspects of real estate—from owning and managing multifamily, co-ops, and Section 8 buildings to renovating over 300 apartment units. One year ago, he relocated his real estate business from NYC to Sullivan County after identifying the urgent need for workforce housing.
Through his company, DSS Services LLC, he's working with the Village of Monticello to certify it as a Pro Housing Community, opening the doors for state housing funds.
But that’s not all—Robert is the founder of the nonprofit Intercultural Resources Development, which offers construction industry training and is pushing for a real drug rehab program that actually works.
He also helped form the Sullivan County Citizens for Good Government PAC, aimed at holding elected officials accountable, while encouraging youth to get involved in politics and leadership roles.
💡His children, Shelley & Sheldon Roberts, are continuing the legacy through Arouca Realty, working on a new 80-unit workforce housing project right on Broadway.
Plus, big news is coming in South Fallsburg this April with a press conference and partnership on an RFP for 25 low-income homeownership lots—including an apprenticeship program to help participants earn their OSHA cards and join the workforce in trades.
Please tune in for an eye-opening, solution-focused conversation about real change in our communities.
