About this listen

Host Brian Smith takes you on a harrowing journey of the story of the Bluebell tragedy, and a little girl on a raft. Terry Jo Duperrault gained notoriety in 1961 after surviving a horrific ordeal at sea. She was 11 years old when her family, including her mother and father, was murdered by the captain of the chartered sailboat they were on, named Bluebelle. She survived the massacre by jumping overboard onto a small cork float and then adrift in the ocean for four days before being rescued.
