About this listen

Nate sits down with Dr. Matthew Asciutto, ER Relief Veterinarian and owner of BindleVet. He is also the host of The Greatest Profession podcast, “an interview-style investigation of the humanity of veterinary medicine.”

Nate and Matt reflect on the turbulence of life, agreeing that it’s not in the highs that we extract the greatest rewards, but from the lows. By coming to peace with that, you also derive joy and contentedness in your day-to-day.

Matt discusses “the circuitous route” that led him to pursue veterinary medicine, and why he was recently inspired to start The Greatest Profession podcast, and to write his first book which he had completed shortly before sitting down with Nate.

He shares how combining his love for veterinary medicine with his passion for music and the performing arts has made his career so much more fulfilling, noting that “doing ER and doing improv is basically the same!”

Finally, Matt tells us how he is able to tap into his creativity consistently by establishing daily habits and a process to achieve his goals on time.
