About this listen
In this episode we talk about surf photography, living with MS and male allies in the surf, with Jonathan Kohanski. Jonathan is a surf photographer based in New Hampshire, on the East Coast of the United States. He is our first male guest on the DOTS Pod and one of few men to appear in the pages of the Daughters of the Sea magazine too, with his images of Melinda and Taryn, two women who surf in his local area.
Jonathan is a friend and a male ally in the surfing world, and shoots the most stunning images of women surfing in wetsuits in the Gulf of Maine. It’s a breath of fresh air to see male photographers actually capturing women on waves, rather than just carrying their boards or flashing their butts!
Jonathan has been living with MS or multiple sclerosis for almost 20 years now. As you can imagine, this has dramatically changed his life and how he views the world, and connects with the ocean. He has an important story to tell, and I’m honoured to share it with you.
