March Madness

We was so excited to kick off March with the only women’s basketball team to win the CIAA at the University we knew back them as St. Augustine’s College in 1978.

On August 1, 2012, Saint Augustine’s College transitioned in name and status to Saint Augustine’s University.

We are so excited to be fortunate enough to have the starting five line up for this podcast.

Players are listed here with their maiden name.

Point Guard - Audrey Mc Carter

Shooting Guard - Annie Mae Joy

Forward - Betty Jean Artis

Forward - IDA Wolfe

Center- Ruby Grant

We also will had Ms Jackie Cumbo who was a guard too. Along with ONLY living person left on that coach staff. Our very own, Assistant Coach Calvin McNeil.

Note, this team is the ONLY Women Basketball Team to have a CIAA Banner currently in the Emery Gymnasium to this date.

This Live interview happened on Sunday, March 2, 2025. Live on Story Time on You Tube. The link is below to visit and see more interviews.
