 Steven Spielberg was born on December 18, 1946, in Cincinnati, Ohio. He was the eldest of four children in a Jewish family. His mother, Leah Adler, was a concert pianist and restaurateur, and his father, Arnold Spielberg, was an electrical engineer involved in the development of computers. The family moved several times during his childhood, eventually settling in California, where Spielberg's fascination with movies truly began.
