Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi and Jedi Knight Anakin Skywalker rescue Chancellor Palpatine from General Grievous, the commander of the droid armies—but Grievous escapes. Suspicions grow within the Jedi Council about the Chancellor, especially given his close relationship with Anakin. When Anakin is asked to spy on him, resentment boils over, and consumed by frustration and doubt, he turns to the Dark Side.
