  • Spotlight Stress: From screamqueen to healer with Dee Wallace
    Jun 15 2023

Do you remember watching E.T. as a kid? (Or last year, in my case… 😄). The Emmy nominated actress, Dee Wallace, is our guest for this episode of Spotlight Stress. She has played in over 150 movies and tv shows in a career that spans over 45 years. You might remember her as Mary, Elliot’s mom, in E.T. Dee’s recurring roles in horror movies definitely earned her the title of ‘screamqueen’. Because Dee had to manage her career while being a mom, selfcare became an important aspect in her life. She believes in the philosophy of becoming a magnet to what you want, and shares how you too can create the life of your dreams. Dee states: ‘Your brain thinks in pictures, so be clear about what you desire. It all comes down to taking responsibility to create your best life.’ 🔥 During this episode 👇🏻 we talk about: Finding your blocks The science behind attracting joy, happiness and abundance How to define yourself Accepting compliments “You don’t create the future, you create the now.” ~ Dee Wallace

  • Spotlight Stress: Embracing the dark side with horror mogul Bill Oberst Jr.
    Jun 15 2023

Is it about time you embrace your dark side? Bill Oberst Jr. is an American actor who achieved a ton of awards for his brilliant (and scary) work in horror and cult films. During our conversation, I was most intrigued by Bill’s kindness and sensitivity. It’s really interesting to hear him share about the challenges while playing in horror movies, especially as an empath who feels everything so very deeply. It requires a very empathic disposition, since you have to surrender to the darkness -your own darkness- to play the role, and how important it is each time to release this afterwards in order to not lose yourself in the parts you play. Bill talks about embracing the darkness inside yourself in order to be happy, because we all have a dark side, and instead of shaming it and hiding it, how can you accept this part of yourself? For example, during this episode, Bill shares how hard he struggled with accepting his own body, and how he can now appreciate it and even use it as an object of fear in his acting. While rewatching this interview, I lost myself all over again in Bill’s beautiful soul, which shines through his eyes. Can you see it too? Immerse yourself in his wise and pure energy, and do let us know which dark side of you needs some TLC, and maybe can even be an asset!

  • Spotlight Stress: How to rise above your limits with Emilia McCarthy
    Jun 15 2023

‘There is always someone who wants you; don’t give up, and push through.’ This is just a taste of Emilia’s wisdom, and what you can expect from this episode of Spotlight Stress. Growing up in a creative environment, Emilia started acting around her 8th birthday. She was nominated for a bunch of Young Artist awards and wrote a book at 8 years old: ‘Baby’s Wish’. Emilia McCarthy is a Canadian actress, dancer and writer, and appeared in numerous movies and series on Disney Channel and Nickelodeon. You can watch her in her latest project, the medical drama; Skymed. Being in the filming industry for a long time, she has experienced and seen how the immense pressure can consume artists, especially in the case of young actors. Taking care of her mental health has always been a priority for Emilia. She tries to be proactive in stimulating her mind with school and extra education, therefore she has a degree in psychology. The transition from a child actor to an adult actor has been quite the challenge for Emilia. It wasn’t just shifting the way the outside world perceived her when she was showing herself as an actor, but she also had to change the perception of her own thoughts in the way she saw herself. By not giving up and pushing through she was able to uplevel her career, and rise above the limits that were created by her past success.
