About this listen
To be unforgiving and a believer IS mutually exclusive. It’s not compatible. If you’re a believer, you must be a forgiver. As you have been forgiven, so must you forgive.
This isn’t a controversial opinion. This is pretty standard stuff that we think most believers agree with.
But when you examine your heart - is it true? Or.. do you have a heart of unforgiveness? Which is really, a heart of bitterness. Do you hold onto slights? Do you get offended and let that offense - whether real or perceived - shape your opinions of that person who offended you? Or how you interact with them - or perhaps how you go out of your way NOT to interact with them?
That's NOT actually being forgiving.

When this is the day you are tempted to bring up someone else's sin to them - sin that has already been forgiven and reconciled - remind yourself that the very act of bringing up the sin, is sinful in itself. In fact, when you see someone who has sinned against you, and you are tempted to think of that sin - you have to be prepared to fight a quick and vicious battle in your mind. Mortify the thought. Murder it. Or as we like to say, murdify! Not the person! The thoughts! The unforgiving thoughts! Be prepared with a battle plan. A literal scripture on hand to slay that beast of unforgiveness.
