Burroughs is one of the principal firsthand witnesses to the Rendlesham Forest incident, often described as one of the most well-documented UFO encounters in history. During the event, he responded to reports of unusual lights in the forest and came face-to-face with an unidentified phenomenon, an experience that would have lasting effects on his health and lead to years of investigation and public discussion.
