About this listen

Have you ever had a Sliding Doors Moment - a decision or opportunity that could have gone either way that leads to two very different futures?

I’m Jennie Becker and I’m fascinated by ‘what if’ moments - what they look like, what we can learn from them - and how we can begin to embrace them.

Four years ago I had my very own Sliding Doors Moment when I decided to start this podcast. Since then I’ve been on an incredible journey helping guests join the dots on the small decisions or moments that made a big difference and built the path of their lives.

From Olympians to Presenters, Actors to Entrepreneurs (and even the cast of the 90s hit movie!), each episode I get to meet amazing people and ask them what could have been, if they’d chosen differently…

    Oct 2 2025

Nathan Sykes is a Singer Song-writer best known as a member of the multi platinum selling boy band ‘The Wanted’, with global chart topping hits such as ‘Glad You Came’, ‘Chasing The Sun’ and ‘All time low’. Fresh from releasing his first solo track in eight years, ‘Getting Lost’, his new long awaited album ‘Ultraviolet’ is out this October!

In this episode Nathan opens up about his time in the band, dealing with grief, self discovery and finally starting to feel like he knows who he is and the artist he wants to be! He discusses his thoughts on believing his life is mapped out for him, and sometimes feeling he is on autopilot and just knows what decisions to make! His three Sliding Doors Moments include: choosing to go to Sylvia Young's rather than Grammar School, choosing to join The Wanted over solo record deals (even though he never wanted to be in a boyband!) and choosing to follow his gut leave his record label after they offered him a deal.

  • Ella Eyre: What if her vocals hadn't been on 'Waiting All Night?'
    Sep 25 2025

Ella Eyre is a award-winning Singer/ Songwriter with a double platinum number one single, two MOBO awards, and her debut single with Rudimental, ‘Waiting All Night’ won them a Brit Award. Since then she has gone from strength to strength with hits such as ‘Came Here for love.’ Her early career was a whirlwind of chart hits and dance collaborations, often leaving her own vision on the sidelines. She is now back with her long anticipated second album ‘Everything in Time’ writing the music she's always wanted - her own authentic R&B/soul body of work that is as unfiltered, fearless, and fully-formed as she is.

In this episode Ella opens up about her new found sense of clarity and self confidence and she really believes she is starting a new chapter in her life. She believes that things happen for a reason, even if you don't realise it at the time and knows that the key moments in her life were meant to be. Her three Sliding Doors Moments include: the story of how she ended up at the Brits School that was the catalyst to her career in music, the moment she was chosen to sing on 'Waiting All Night', and the 'what ifs' of dating in her twenties!
