The early church grew in a context of imperial domination and pagan idolatry. Followers of Jesus had to learn how to live with a transformed mind, not conforming to the pattern of the world around them. In our generation we often find ourselves participating in systems which oppress us and others. How do we understand the times and know which way to go, being salt and light in a hyper consumeristic, hyper connected society filled with despair, distraction and greed?
