LFYC | S3 E21 – Obi Abuchi Robert Stephenson | The Power of Your Story

On this week’s Leading from Your Core Podcast and Vodcast, Obi Abuchi interviews Robert Stephenson.

Robert was originally trained as an actor and mime artist, and the physical theatre was a key part of his

early career, with a foundation in performance and theatre. He worked with a number of organizations,

including Creative Partnerships and A New Direction, where he delivered training alongside Educational

Consultant Mathilda Joubert, which sparked his initial interest in coaching.

Prior to coaching and working with young people in schools and nurseries, Robert had a diverse

background that included involvement with various aspects of higher education institutions. He also

worked on degrees at several universities, including running a Theatre and Education module at Essex

University and contributing work to Anglia Ruskin University's Masters in Education and the Arts.

Initially trained as an NLP Practitioner and hypnotherapist, he went on to complete his Diploma in

Transformational Coaching before adding a number of other accredited coach training courses to his

toolkit, including David Drake's Narrative Coaching, Simon Western's Analytic Network Coaching, and

Peter Hawkins Advanced Coaching.

His path to life coaching and training has taken him down a path of diverse experience and learning, and

as a result, he has been on an incredible journey of self-development, consistently expanding both his

training and coaching skill set.
