About this listen

In this episode, Raz and Jamie welcome back their first-ever second-time guest — Jess Moore!

Jess is a licensed therapist who helps people experience healing and freedom through professional counseling with Jesus. Together, they explore the connection between psychology and Scripture when it comes to our minds, thoughts, and emotions.

Jess introduces the cognitive triangle from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT):

  • Thoughts – what we THINK affects how we feel and act
  • Feelings – how we FEEL affects how we act and what we think
  • Behaviors – what we DO affects how we think and feel

She explains how identifying and “switching” unhelpful thoughts can lead to healthier emotions and better actions — something Scripture teaches as well. They reflect on:

  • Romans 12:2 — Be transformed by the renewing of your mind.
  • 2 Corinthians 10:5 — Take every thought captive to make it obedient to Christ.

The conversation also touches on neuroplasticity — how the brain can be rewired with new thoughts — and how walking with Jesus makes this transformation possible.
