About this listen
Arthur Bachmann has played viola in the Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra for 39 years, and is retiring at the end of the ‘24-’25 season. We discuss Arthur’s work as a composer, his children’s piece ‘A Paintbrush for Piccolo’, and some favourite memories from his career.
The music in this episode is two works by Arthur Bachmann: ‘The Darkling Thrush’, performed by pianist Akiko Tominaga and Adam Zinatelli on trumpet; and ‘Nauthiz’, performed by Kensington Sinfonia, from their CD ‘Views from the Americas’.
