Overview of Episodes 1 to 4
Article 5 - We affirm that God’s revelation within the Holy Scriptures was progressive. We deny that later revelation, which may fulfill earlier revelation, ever corrects or contradicts it. We further deny that any normative revelation has been given since the completion of the New Testament writings.
- The use of the word ‘progressive’. What does it mean? Advanced? Additional? Superior? Developed? Reformed?
- Assumes a somewhat chronological ordering of the bible. Is this the case? Isaiah 42.9 See, the former things have taken place, and new things I declare; before they spring into being I announce them to you.”
- Failure to understand that there is an intended audience. E.g. Letters in Revelation.
- Contradictions.
- New Testament writings? What are they?
