Un Giro pieno di colpi di scena in cui la maglia rosa ha cambiato padrone varie volte e nessuna squadra è riuscita a controllare la corsa. Fuori dal podio i favoriti della vigilia Jarno Widar, Jorgen Nordhagen e Lorenzo Finn, che però hanno dimostrato grande potenziale.
In chiusura parliamo anche del Tour de Suisse, vinto in rimonta da un ormai inarrestabile Joao Almeida. Con questa gamba il portoghese si candida a un posto sul podio del Tour de France.
