Our hearts are much like the heartwood of a tree. The center of a mighty tree, its heartwood can be forever damaged when the tree absorbs wounds. Our hearts can also be damaged as we absorb hurts and wounds and take offense. Join us as we seek our Lord's word guiding us to guard our hearts.

Have you ever felt as if your life is full of spaces, like a sentence missing words?

In Matthew 6:25 we are told," do not worry about your life..." In Matthew 13:22 we are told, "The cares of this world will choke out the life of God in us." If you think about it, we are all bombarded every minute of the day by the cares of this world. So, how do we not worry? How do we not focus onthe spaces, on the times we think we missed out on, on the regrets, on the worries going forward, how do we not worry about our life? The answer is found in the way we worship.

There are times when we all ask ourselves, do I matter, or wonder what value we have. Times when circumstance brings into our lives broken relationships, divorce, unforgiveness, lonliness, job loss and any number of situations that can make us question our value. Sometimes its easy to get caught up in seeing ourselves through the eyes of others or our world and what it values. What do we do during these times, who do we go to, where do we seek comfort?

Can we rise above our worst mistakes, the regrets and sin that hold us down, the times we have given in to temptation, and done all we know we should not have? How can we rise above the things we have done, be renewed, break free of guilt and strongholds, and find peace in our hearts and mind? We can find the answer in Jesus' first word to us as He began to preach. He said, "repent for the kingdom of heaven has come near." Of all the words Jesus could have used to begin His preaching He tells us to repent. In today's episode we will talk about three things; what repentance is, God's kingdom, and how repentance can bring us God's blessings and allow us to rise above our mistakes and regrets as it did for David in Psalm 32.

In Joshua 6 we find the Israelites circling the walls of Jericho. Circling a city they must overcome, a city with insurmountable walls. We too face our own Jericho's, problems and circumstances that seem insurmountable to us. How do we do it, how do we walk through these kinds of circumstances? Join us as we look to the Lord's word to guide us through the things in life that we in our own human strength cannot conquer.
