About this listen

"Be careful that you do not forget the Lord, who brought you out of Egypt, out of the land of slavery." Deuteronomy 6:12

As the sun rises each day, let it serve as a powerful reminder that liberty is indeed a precious gift. The words of Deuteronomy 6:12 urge us to be vigilant: "Then beware, lest you forget the Lord who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage." Forgetfulness can quietly steal our gratitude and joy, while remembrance fuels our worship and appreciation for God’s goodness.

In our daily lives, we can cultivate a spirit of remembrance through simple practices like journaling and prayer. Writing down moments of divine intervention or blessings received helps anchor us in gratitude. Prayer, too, allows us to reflect on God's faithfulness and express our thankfulness for His steadfast love. When we share these practices with one another, we encourage a community rooted in gratitude and remembrance.

Psalm 77:11-12 says, "I will remember the works of the LORD; yes, I will remember Your wonders of old. I will reflect on all You have done and ponder Your mighty deeds."

Consider the story of the Israelites who wandered in the desert. Their journey was filled with miracles, yet they often forgot the chains of slavery from which God had freed them. Similarly, in our own lives, we can easily become complacent during seasons of abundance. It is crucial to remember not just where we are now, but who led us through our struggles and challenges, because liberty is a gift, and forgetfulness is its silent thief

"When freedom feels familiar, remember the chains you once wore and the hand that broke them." Let this truth resonate deeply within you. Each time you feel blessed, pause to reflect on the past struggles that God has carried you through. Gratitude flourishes when we acknowledge our journey and recognize God's guiding hand at every step. Amen. Isaiah 46:9 says, "Remember what happened long ago, for I am God, and there is no other; I am God, and there is none like Me."

Prayer for the Day!

Heavenly Father, thank You for Your unchanging goodness. Help us remember Your faithfulness and inspire us to cultivate habits of remembrance in our lives. May we always carry a heart of gratitude, recognizing that every blessing comes from You. In Jesus' name. Amen.
