About this listen

Welcome to Anything But Ordinary

In this episode of Anything But Ordinary, host Zoe Jackson speaks with Sharon Pursey OBE, one of the founders of SafeToNet Ltd and The SafeToNet Foundation.

Sharon is an award-winning entrepreneur with over 13 years of experience running her own business, a strong background in the travel industry selling complex IT solutions to enterprise clients, and a deep passion for child online safety. Her work has been recognised with the Women in Business – Rising Star award, a nomination for Woman in IT Awards – Woman of the Year, and in 2020 she was honoured with an OBE in the New Year’s Honours list.

Sharon shares the story behind SafeToNet’s mission, the evolution of online safety technology, and the launch of their innovative product Harm Block — designed to prevent harmful imagery from being created by children.

She talks about the challenges of keeping young people safe online, the role of partnerships and the importance of making child-protection technology both effective and privacy-preserving.

This is a compelling conversation about innovation, resilience, and purpose, from the lessons learned through business setbacks to the power of networking and building relationships to create meaningful change.
