France left it late against Belgium, as Jan Vertonghen’s own-goal was the difference between the two nations. Later, the first match of the tournament to go to extra time saw Jan Oblak save a Cristiano Ronaldo penalty, but it was Portugal who ultimately prevailed in the penalty shootout thanks to the heroics of their own goalkeeper Diogo Costa.
