Até à revolução de Abril, o 10 de junho era o Dia da Raça, depois passou a ser o Dia de Portugal, de Camões e das Comunidades Portuguesas. Em 2008, o 10 de Junho voltou a ser também o dia da raça, num aparente descuido do então Presidente da República Aníbal Cavaco Silva. Desta vez, sem equívocos, primeiro Lídia Jorge, depois Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa, vieram deixar claro que, quando muito, somos arraçados dos muitos que nos procuraram e de outros tantos que buscamos.
