About this listen

Kate Casey is an unscripted television expert and host ofthe highly acclaimed podcast Reality Life with Kate Casey. She has worked in crisis PR in the political space, she has interviewed stars, producers, directors and show creators and is known for her intelligent analyses of the shows we all love.

Kate has a fascinating backstory that would rival many of the docuseries she now dissects for a living. Her tumultuous childhood included boarding at the Milton Hershey School, a place for children from disadvantaged backgrounds to access education on a level playing field. Her resilience, tenacity and curiosity for the world comes from this intriguing start to life, which led to her love of storytelling, very early on.

Kate is also a mother of 5 and lives in glossy Orange County,California but don’t let that fool you! Kate tells it like it is and calls out the BS where she sees it.

We talked about the impact of her upbringing on her careerchoices, her parenting and interests - and had the questions turned on me, in her trademark curiousity style! We tapped into her reality and pop culture expertise with some hot off the press recommendations (and what not to bother with!)

Follow Kate at @katecaseyca on socials, or at www.katecasey.com. Subscribe to her podcast, Reality Life with Kate Casey for interviews, recommendationsand discussions around all things unscripted television.

Thank you as always to the masterful Sam Talbot, for his audio and production wizardry behind the scenes.
