About this listen

Part 2 - The conversation continues when PIX tells us some dirty little secrets!

Meet PIX, a remarkable individual whose life journey is as diverse as it is inspiring. A former British Army Captain in the Royal Logistic Corps, PIX dedicated nearly a decade of his life to serving alongside the Royal Marines, primarily in maritime and amphibious roles.

In the midst of the pandemic, PIX joined REACT as part of Operation REACT, deploying multiple times to various tasks, ranging from setting up vaccination centers to handling more solemn responsibilities, such as facilitating temporary mortuaries. As the world gradually returned to normalcy, PIX transitioned into the role of an instructor and mentor on the training course. Recently, he led a team to Turkey in response to the earthquakes in March, showcasing his commitment to making a positive impact in times of crisis.

Beyond his military service, PIX is the owner of Three Degrees South, an adventure travel company that orchestrates expeditions to East Africa and across the continent. With a mission to redefine the concept of a typical holiday, Three Degrees South specializes in taking clients on transformative journeys that often push them beyond their comfort zones. Whether it's navigating mountains or walking in the bush with local tribes, PIX ensures that these experiences contribute to the empowerment of local communities. Through close collaboration with in-country partners, Three Degrees South exemplifies a commitment to sustainable travel, setting a precedent for responsible and meaningful adventures.

Join us in the latest episode of the Working Class Heroes Podcast as PIX shares his captivating life story – from a childhood in private schools to becoming a DJ, Scuba Dive Instructor, and the lead guide on nine summits of Kilimanjaro, all while leaving an indelible mark as a dedicated Army Officer and a compassionate leader in times of crisis.
