Elk jaar organiseert Special Olympics sportevenementen wereldwijd, zo ook in België. Tijdens deze evenementen worden atleten met een verstandelijke beperking uitgebreid gescreend om hun mentale en fysieke gezondheid te bevorderen. Ook hun gehoor krijgt de nodige aandacht.
Maar hoe verloopt zo'n audiologische screening precies? Waar moet je op letten? Waarom is het zo belangrijk? En wat kunnen wij hieruit meenemen voor onze dagelijkse praktijk?
