About this listen

Every week, Hanna and Nora crown a New Yorker of the Week—a hidden gem of the city who deserves their rightful moment in the spotlight. Expect a short but essential interview with our newly minted royalty, plus plenty of classic Nora x Hanna chaos: the observations, the tangents, the unhinged-yet-deeply-necessary conversations you didn’t know you needed. If you’re confused, don’t worry—just listen, and you’ll get it.Nora Fried and Hanna Gerlander

  • New Yorker of the Week: Laura Henny, Founder of The Rack Shack and Advocate for Body-Positive Bra Shopping
    May 15 2025

Today’s episode is close to our hearts — quite literally (boobs!!)
We’re joined by none other than the Bra Witch of Brooklyn herself: Laura Henny. Nestled in Bushwick, her iconic lingerie haven — The Rack Shack — is a magical space built for all boobs and all bodies.
Laura has turned bra shopping into something that feels like a dream — joyful, judgment-free, and kind of like you're on a cloud. She also has a supernatural gift: she can look at your boobs and instantly know your correct size. Don’t believe us? Hanna walked in thinking she was a 36C — Laura took one look and said, absolutely not. Consider us converted.
Tune in as the magic (and the boob-myth-busting) unfolds in today’s episode!

  • New Yorker of the Week: Rox JerZ Queen—The Ultimate Queen of Jersey
    May 8 2025

The other day—I, Nora (yes, it’s me typing this in real time)—introduced Hanna to Jersey Shore for the very first time. A milestone in our relationship, yes. But also? A humbling anthropological moment. Turns out, after some light fieldwork (Instagram DMs and a TikTok rabbit hole), much of Gen Z is disturbingly out of the loop on Jersey Shore. A cultural chasm. A generational schism. Imagine my horror.

Fast forward however many years it’s been since 2009 (time is a construct, etc.) and we find ourselves in the presence of the QUEEN of Jersey herself: Rox—JerZ Queen. And let me tell you, she’s not just the epitome of New Yorker of the Week—she is the archetype. Sure, her home address may technically read “New Jersey,” but the moment she guns it through the tunnel? She transcends. She becomes not just a New Yorker—but the very Platonic ideal of New York. She’s what New York dreams of being when it lies awake at night, haunted by its own inadequacy.

Tune in as we spill the tea (nay, the entire boiling kettle) on Rox’s legendary 15 minutes with Pitbull (dale) and relive the glory of snapping Blackberry pics with the original Jersey Shore cast at Karma. Yes. The Blackberry. Karma. Icons meeting icons.

God damn, we love this woman.

  • New Yorker of the Week: Anna Hull, the Coolest Name in NYC Astrology
    May 1 2025

A few weeks ago, Nora found herself in a “special” place (emotionally, spiritually, astrologically—you get it) and ended up at a New Moon Workshop at Dou Yoga in Brooklyn. That’s where she met the ultimate NYC healer, Anna Hull. Intuitive astrologer. Energy reader. Coolest calm presence you’ve ever been around.

We don’t really know how astrology works, but somehow, Anna does—and without making it weird. She’s part mystic, part guide, part woman-you-end-up-crying-to-after-a-sound-bath. A true cosmic New Yorker of the Week.

You don’t have to believe in the stars to believe in Anna Hull. But honestly, after this episode, you just might. Hit play, ditch reality, and let Anna map out NYC’s cosmic forecast.
