About this listen
JC Vega introduces a new review/watching along series "New To Me", where a co-host takes a random movie the others on the show haven't seen and we discuss. The inaugural episode Vega deep dive into Steve Wang's 1997 Americanized Hong Kong styled marital arts movie Drive (1997). Not to be confused with the 2011 Ryan Gosling arthouse vehicle of the same name. A movie Jackson wasn't familiar with. This movie stars Mark Dacascos (a Vega's World stalwart, Only The Strong, Double Dragon)) and Kadeem Hardison (Different Worlds). Two years before they costar in The Crow: Stairway To Heaven. This straight to video film is a non stop adrenaline rush, a prototype to Rush Hour, which was released a year after. It features fights choreographed by famed Koichi Sakamoto (Guyver Dark Hero, Power Rangers, Super Sentai, and Kamen Rider) and the Alpha Stunt team. Find out, what Jackson thinks of this film and where JC Vega holds it on his martial arts favorites.
