    This week, NFU President Tom Bradshaw catches breath after a whirlwind week that included a government reshuffle with Emma Reynolds being appointed the new Defra Secretary, and Dame Angela Eagle landing the Farming Minister role.

    This week also saw the NFU celebrating the 10th anniversary of our Back British Farming Day, an event that attracted more than 80 parliamentarians and peers to celebrate the work our farmers do to feed the nation.

  • President’s Vlog | Defra SoS on Farm, Rural Crime Action Week, Windsor Estate visit

    In this week’s vlog, recorded before the Cabinet reshuffle on 5 September, NFU President Tom Bradshaw recalls the then Defra Secretary of State Steve Reed’s recent visit to his farm. Together with a few other farmers they discussed many issues including the future of SFI, investment on farm, fertiliser tax, energy prices and, of course, inheritance tax. Tom also mentions a very special visit he made with NFU Director General Terry Jones to the Windsor Estate.

    Next week is NRCN (National Rural Crime Network) Rural Crime Action Week and, ahead of that, NFU Vice-president Rachel Hallos gives us a rundown of the work and results the NFU has achieved in that area.
