About this listen

Welcome to It's Not JUST A Period!

Joining Alexandra in the studio is Libby Tanswell-Gidney, founder of Ove. OVE is a period tracking app designed for girls aged 8 to 16, born from her own journey of confusion and embarrassment during puberty.

After starting her period in primary school before any of her friends, Libby discovered just how unprepared she was and how little she knew about her body. She saw first hand the taboo around menstrual health and how difficult it can be to talk about when you're young.

Alexandra and Libby discuss the role of education in breaking the cycle of misinformation and the importance of empowering young women to advocate for their health. They highlight the positive impact of OVE and the growing community of young women who are becoming more informed and confident about their bodies.
