  • Cryptid Interview Round 2025
    Jul 7 2025

MEC, My Existential Corp, is interviewing for the highly valued position of unpaid intern. Five cryptids have applied — the Squonk, Mothman, the Pukwudgie, the Thunderbird and Sasquatch.

We grade each on what they're wearing to the interview, their poise during the interview itself and their competency with office tools.

Who will emerge as the victor? Listen to find out.

  • 65. Commercial Innovation Over Public Safety! (The OceanGate Submersible Disaster)
    Jul 1 2025

We're back with episode 65 and I promise it's worth the wait!

This week, Dylan kicks us off my telling us about a morbid omen that laid literally at his feet: a dead crow-sized crow. This sparks a discussion about Dylan's dislike for nature and travel and Madison's apparent love for the Grand Canyon, all in the search of finding what we value. Ultimately, this is one of our most wholesome openings where we only slightly dabble into Madison's recurring existential conundrum with Time.

This week, Madison tells us all about one of the events that haunted her nightmares when it was splashed (pun intended) across the news: the OceanGate Submersible Disaster. Madison tells all about what happened that fateful day, and the many, many, MANY failings that lead up to it.

  • 64. A Near Miss at Shaffer's (Quantum Immortality)
    Jun 16 2025

What do we cover in the intro? What don't we cover in the intro. We go into the *perfect* French toast recipe, severe hyperpronation, Vicodin, and, of course, baseball. We also talk about Sabrina Carpenter's controversial new album cover.

In this episode, Dylan covers quantum immortality, the theory that we continue to live indefinitely, switching into parallel universes to avoid death. We talk about the theory's connection to other theories, the tragic story of Redditor /afh43, implications for the justice system and what it means to live forever.

Heads up! We do run into some crackling, but that disappears shortly.

  • 63. The Delightfulness of It All (The Murder of Bob Crane)
    Jun 11 2025

It's episode 63 and we're coming at you with the most wholesome of intros today. We throw it back to driving lessons, Madison's unparalleled parallel parking skills, and Dylan dreaming about dogs made of flowers and skiing with a Greek bust statue.

This week, Madison takes us into an Octogenarian's dream with the some old Hollywood gossip: the murder of Bob Crane. A rising Hollywood star turned washed up actor, Bob Crane was murdered in his apartment shortly before his 50th birthday, but that isn't even the most interesting part of the story.

  • 62. General Decrepit Ruins, At Your Service (The Soul Trap Theory)
    May 27 2025

Happy Memorial Day! We're coming at you with episode 62 and we have a rather grim one for you today. But first, Dylan tells us about his new purchase and we're eagerly awaiting the visuals for it. He's also become a hat guy, but wants to make it clear that he's not a fedora guy. Madison talks briefly about her travels from the last 2 weeks where she went to Kenya, Budapest, Vienna, and Prague.

This week, Dylan gets a bit spiritually existential as he tells us about the controversial Soul Trap Theory (and no, that's not a new music genre). It's also referred to as the Cosmic Prison where we are being continuously used for our energy and then spat out for reincarnation back into the universe.

  • 61. Aaron the Ripper (The Disappearance and Reappearance of Alicia Navarro)
    May 19 2025

We've reached episode 61! Not exactly a huge milestone but impressive nonetheless. Dylan talks about his experience taking voice lessons and gives his best rendition of John Dylnver's "Take Me Home, Country Roads."

Madison provides an update on one of the oldest cases in true crime history, the mystery of Jack the Ripper's identity. She also updates us on the Vallow-Daybell case before going into the disappearance and reappearance of Alicia Navarro.

    May 12 2025

We've reached our 60th episode! And Dylan has reached his 30th birthday. We talk about Oddjob Hats (not a sponsor - yet), Steven King movies, secret cookie recipes and unassuming drug dealers.
